We Both Know What Happened is a documentary that follows the personal and emotional journey of a young woman after she became a victim of sexual violence by someone she trusted. She writes a letter to her perpetrator, files a complaint and undergoes trauma therapy where she tries to deal with her shame and fear.

Step by step we see her personal transformation as she gradually rebuilds her confidence in herself and in the world around her.

This documentary is a profound and intimate story about vulnerability, courage, survival and provides a unique insight into what trauma and post-traumatic growth is and can be.

We Both Know What Happened is een documentaire die de persoonlijke en emotionele reis van een jonge vrouw volgt nadat ze het slachtoffer werd van seksueel geweld door iemand die ze vertrouwde. Ze schrijft een brief aan haar dader, dient klacht in en ondergaat traumatherapie waar ze probeert om te gaan met haar schaamte en haar angst.

Stap voor stap zien we haar persoonlijke transformatie terwijl ze langzamerhand het vertrouwen in zichzelf en in de wereld om haar heen terug opbouwt.
